I'm Hunter, Owner and Creator behind Orion Leathercraft. I graduated from Virginia Tech in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, but I also have a passion for creating… whether it's through design, craftsmanship, or working with my hands. What began as a hobby in leathercraft quickly grew into something much more as I fell in love with the process of transforming raw leather into functional, durable pieces.
As a self-taught artist, my mission is simple: to share my vision with the world, one leather design at a time. I believe in making quality, long-lasting pieces that have character and purpose. Each item I create is crafted with care, with a focus on durability, timeless style, and sustainability. By choosing leather, one of nature’s most durable materials, I aim to create products that stand the test of time and help reduce waste by offering items that can be treasured for years to come.

I’m Kay, Co-Owner and head of Marketing here at Orion Leathercraft. I was introduced to the world of leathercraft by Hunter in 2024, and what started as curiosity quickly turned into admiration. Seeing the beauty, quality, and sustainability of his handmade pieces sparked something in me ~ a desire to help grow something meaningful and lasting.
Together, we set out not just to create products, but to build a brand rooted in purpose. Our goal was never to produce easily consumed, throwaway items. Instead, we wanted to offer something different: thoughtfully crafted, eco-conscious leather goods designed to age gracefully and be cherished for years.
From wallets and purses to bracelets and beyond, every piece we make is a celebration of nature’s gifts ~ durable, timeless, and personal. We're passionate about building lifelong relationships with our customers and creating items that carry stories, not just styles.

What kind of leather do we use?
We primarily use full-grain leather, which is one of the highest qualities, and most durable types available. Each age beautifully, developing a unique patina over time.
Are our products handmade?
Yes! Every item is handcrafted by us from start to finish. We cut, stitch, and finish each piece with care and attention to detail. Our workshop is nestled within the Blue Ridge Mountains in Broadway, Virginia.
Is our leather ethically sourced?
Absolutely. We source our leather from reputable tanneries that prioritize sustainability and humane practices.
How long do our products last?
With proper care, our leather goods will last decades. Full-grain leather is known for its durability and strength… the more you use it, the better it looks.
Leather product care?
Keep your item clean and dry. Use a natural leather conditioner once a year to restore moisture and maintain flexibility. Avoid direct sunlight and water when possible.
Do we offer custom products?
Yes, we love creating custom orders! Whether it's initials, sizing, or a special design, feel free to reach out through our Contact page. We’ll work with you to craft something unique.
What is the timeline for orders to be made?
Orders are created within 5-45 business days, depending on the materials, complexity/size, and customization. We’ll always keep you updated if there are any delays from the tannery.
What are shipment options?
Standard shipping is an additional custom fee, depending on location & product. Expedited & International shipping are available by request.
Do we accept returns or exchanges?
Because each piece is handmade, we handle returns and exchanges on a case-by-case basis. If there’s an issue with your order, please contact us within 7 days of delivery & we’ll do our best to make it right.
